Starting with one client in Westport, Connecticut, Julie Holzman founded Holzman Interiors in January 1991 and incorporated it in 1993. Soon after, a friend gave her the chance to design a kitchen in Darien, and before long, she was working on seven homes on that street alone. As her business grew, she expanded her team adding a college graduate in design and a book, and Holzman Interiors was on a roll. Julie began her career in fashion design shifted her focus after the birth of her third child. She returned to school for Interior Design while simultaneously raising a family and apprenticing with an ASID professional. Her taste evolved from traditional styles in Westport to a more transitional and contemporary aesthetic after moving to New York City. As cleaner lines emerged in the design world, most clients sought to incorporate them into their spaces. A transformative trip to Vietnam further enriched her aesthetic sensibility, inspiring her to embrace a minimalist approach that balances simplicity and elegance.
